ATMeye Combines Anti-skimming and Video Capture
ATM Parts Co Ltd, a division of Acal's Parts Services group, announces the UK launch of the ATMeye with integrated Anti-skimming (ASD), a newly developed ATM security solution designed to counter skimming fraud and vandalism.
Building on the worldwide success of the original ATMeye, which has 20,000 installations in 60 countries, the ATMeye with ASD integrates the existing video security functionality with the anti skimming technology of the ATM-ASD101.
Developed by Lithuanian company "Penkiu Kontinentu Bankines Technologijos (BS/2)" the ATMeye video security system acts as an ATM video surveillance system with a difference. The ATMeye solves vandalism problems, conflicts and fraud cases at the ATMs simply by capturing snapshots and storing video details of customers, vandals etc which are using or attempting to defraud the ATM.
The key behind the success of the ATMeye is that the visual information is integrated with the internal ATM application, thus allowing the images to be efficiently sorted, searched and selected by the Financial Institution and bringing to an end the searching of hundreds of video cassettes or huge digital video archives. Banks are therefore in a position to successfully resolve conflict issues much faster, increasing customer satisfaction and reducing fraud with a simple selection process.
The ATMeye with ASD leverages this video security system whilst integrating the anti-skimming technology of the ATM-ASD101 from UK Company ATM Parts Co. With the ever present challenge to reduce card fraud the combination of ATMeye and ASD captures the video information about the current status of the ATM at the point when the anti-skimming device is activated. Therefore as the criminal mounts the skimming device to the ATM, the ATM-ASD101 anti-skimming device is activated, the ATM can then take a predefined course of action and digital images of the person fitting the device will be immediately available to the operator in the bank via the ATMeye.
As skimming and fraud trends are rising every day ($1.2billion a year, worldwide (according to Celent Research)), the ATMeye with integrated ASD provides the Financial Institutions with a solution for protecting the ATM and making the usage of it secure for its customers.
